Painting Inspection

The coating inspector has a huge responsibility and is often a part of the quality assurance system. The main objective is to assure that the corrosion protection provides the best possible result and is according to the specification. By use of knowledge, instruments and experience a qualified inspector will fulfil this very important task. Sometimes inspectors may be used as experts for determining surface treated areas e.g. performing surveys, and in some cases used for evaluating specifications.

For employers to have confidence in their work, welding inspectors need to understand/interpret various QC procedures and also have a sound knowledge of welding technology.

The relevant standards, rules and specifications that a welding inspector should be familiar with at the start of a new contract are all the documents they will need to refer to during the fabrication sequence in order to make judgements about particular details.
