American early 20th century Folk Art carving of a Negro boy with a basket. In very good used condition, has always been in a display case, in a non-smoking home. This piece was handed down to me through family who had gotten it from the carver in the 30s or 40s. The initials CB are carved into the bottom. It shows some paint wear and some natural splitting (see photos).
