This collectible set of salt and pepper shakers is in the shape of the state of Texas and an oil well tower. The oil well tower stands about 3 ½” tall and the state is about 2" x 2" at its widest points.
The detailed oil well has three holes at the top on one side for dispensing the spice; the state shape has two holes on top (panhandle). The Texas state shape has TEXAS outlined on top and various images embossed on the face denoting Texas highlights (cowboy on bucking horse, oil wells, capitol, long horn steer, ship and tall tower in city). The state flowers are also on the shaker.
I think these vintage shakers are made of brass or die cut metal and they need a good cleaning to bring out all the details. They both have their original real cork stoppers. The oil well has JAPAN embossed on the bottom, but neither has a makers’ mark.
